Event Graphics and Banner Recycling
Save fabric from going to landfill, Help the environment and Give to Charity - All in One
Considering Event Graphics and Banner Recycling?
Graphic and banner recycling is so important. Event waste is a growing problem – and with many of the fabrics used in the industry being thick and tricky to deal with, the vast majority is sent to landfill. But Calluna Upcycling can help you – we can turn your unwanted graphics into gifts for your employees or clients, and by using us there are many benefits:
- You are helping to reduce event waste
- It is very easy PR for both you and your clients
- There is a physical product to show off how you have recycled
- Our sewers are women who can not get full time employment, we have given them complete flexible working and pay a good wage per item for what they make
- 10% of the product value goes to the Severn Hospice (Charity number 512394)
So much good comes from every order!
What Fabrics Can We Recycle?
The most common fabrics we receive are PVC banners, Canvas graphics, Black back and grey back canvas, Banner mesh and flag fabrics. But we have also had tablecloths, tents, wetsuits, lanyard straps and camping chairs!
We can recycle most event graphics – if it’s playable and sewable the we can find a use for it! The only exceptions being roll up banner stands and pop-up material – these are too thick and crease badly when manipulated.
All fabrics have very different properties so lend themselves to different end products. For example, PVC is a nice sturdy material so works well for storage boxes and XL tote bags. But a flag material would be too floppy for the cubes without a more stable material attached to it.

Why Should You Do Graphic and Banner Recycling with Calluna Upcycling?
We are at a tipping point in time, if we don’t stop abusing the natural resources on this planet we may never be able to repair the damage.
By choosing to make recycled eco-friendly gifts, we save otherwise useful materials from landfill and reduce the need for production using new or raw materials. As a result we reduce air pollution, water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
Figures are approximated due to it being very hard to estimate carbon and water. It depends on how it is farmed, and what energy used to process. Carbon is based on 21.3 CO2 per kg of polyester clothing, as found on Handbook of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Textiles and Clothing. Water is based on 61m3 of water saved per kg of polyester recycled, as found on the Water Footprint Network guide.
